Another voice repeating our mantra Its the Debt Stupid

It’s the debt, stupid.

So says  Brett Arends at market watch in a Sept 12th post entitled Clearing away the debt is the only way forward.

You want to fix this economic crisis? You want to put people back to work? You want to light a fire under the economy?

There’s a way to do it. Fast. And relatively simple.

But you’re not going to like it. You’re not going to like it at all.

Default. A national Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

It’s the debt, stupid.

We’re hocked up to the eyeballs, and then some. We’re at the bottom of a lake of debt, lashed to an anchor. American households today owe $13.3 trillion. That has quadrupled in a generation. It has doubled just in the last 11 years. We owe more than any other nation, ever.

Multiple wars, loss of liberties and explosive generational debt

A Decade of Denial and Deception By Silver Shield, on September 11th, 2011

“It is said that men go mad in herds, and only come to their senses slowly, and one by one.”

-Charles MacKay

9/11 is the biggest event in our life time, and yet here we sit a decade later, and the average American has not put any logical thought into what happened that day. For the most part, Americans were driven by emotional, almost animalistic, herd mentality into multiple wars, loss of liberties and explosive generational debt.

We were driven by the fear of Mushroom Clouds and Weapons of Mass Destruction that were only found in our minds. When I look back at how much our world has changed over the past decade since 9/11, it is astounding to me how much death and debt could have been avoided if we just came face to face with reality. In this article I am going to take a very different approach of explaining what happened that beautiful Tuesday in September.

Not only will I present evidence to you, I will place the proper political, social, historical, economic and psychological context. It is only from there can people really come to terms and truly understand what happened that day. One other thing I am going to insist of you, is that you question everything I show you.If you can do that simple thing, you will be well on your way to a much bigger and freer world.

Our Input/Output Disorder I am not surprised at how many people have not come to terms with 9/11, they lack the tools to comprehend it. Our educational system is centered on an input/output process of information. Our success or failure depends on our efficiency of taking what the teacher tells us and then regurgitating it on to some exam. Those that are able to blindly regurgitate information the best are rewarded with higher grades. They are told they are smart, when in fact they are just thoroughly indoctrinated. This input/output process is no different than what a computer or a slave does. You give it a command and it just does it, without question. This system was carefully created to mold us into what we are today.

The World has become one Vast Casino

Maurice Allais

Shortly after receiving the 1988 Nobel Laureate in Economics, Maurice Allais wrote in a front page report in Le Monde,

…the international financial and monetary institutions ought to be thoroughly reformed.

The whole world economy rests on gigantic debt pyramids that mutually sustain one another in a precarious balance. Never in past history had there been such an accumulation of promissory notes. Never had it been so difficult to honor such promises, probably. Whether it is currency or stock speculation, the world has become one vast casino where gambling tables are spread over all meridians and latitudes… Speculation everywhere is boosted by credit-issuance, since one can buy without paying and sell without owning… All our difficulties stem from ignoring the fundamental reality, that no [market system] may properly operate if uncontrolled credit creation of means of payment ex nihilo allows at least temporarily an escape from necessary adjustments.

Maurice Allais died in 2010 at the age of 99.

Blast from the Past: 1983, the Debt Bomb Threat

Way back in 1983, Time magazine reported on a growing debt crisis:

Never in history have so many nations owed so much money with so little promise of repayment…. Much of it may never be paid off, and a major default somewhere, somehow, could trigger far-reaching political and economic reactions everywhere. The global economy is sitting on a debt bomb.
